So lets see... a little over a year since I got the Beseler 45 enlarger and the hope was to create a cold light head for it. It was to use a shutter rather than a on/off switch to keep the bulbs fully warmed and bright. A nest of over 12 small cathode bulbs hold by standard Edison thread mounts screwed to a custom reflector plate and it would have had a sort of condenser and a 4x5 diffusion core. The shutter was a simple reflex mirror or shutter blade much like that of leaf shutters... You know I think I'm beginning to remember why I didn't build this right away.
New technology might mean I should think in the direction of LED lamps instead... I tested this idea in small scale soon after getting my enlarger and popped every one of the test bulbs. So now the available LED spots available might be a better chance. Hmmm....
Welcome... This is my little blog about stuff related to photography or around the subject of photography. I like to tinker with things as well as learning things to help me be a better photographer or better tinkerer? In this spot you will see some of my experiments and projects as well I'm sure some mishaps or outright failures. I hope you find here something that is interesting to you and drop me a note. Remember, I'm not an actual photographer nor have I played one on television.
