Excuse the slow unfolding of the next point of investigation. I noticed that the "stand-off" of the advance lever was limp. So the question arises, what is wrong with the spring pressure that usually is there to hold it in proper position. Under the idea that something is broken, I attached the mirror box to see if the shutter will cycle fully... no it did not. Instead, the dreaded continuous cranking was encountered. I might not have placed the shutter linkage into position in my haste to test and that is why I'll run through the manual and note and then write up the details. The first ME Super only took a brief coaxing to align the linkage and then it was ready to shoot and this second ME Super has failed after a dozen tries. So if anything, we will look at the taking down of the transport area to investigate the question further.
