O.K. there seems to be some folks out there that think you have to completely remove the lens to mount meter as well as sync the lever to the link. It was pointed out that I must not own a P67 as I "clearly didn't know how to mount the meter" What am I talking about? As you can see in the clip, tab to the camera...
Also, keep in mind that if you prism is missing foam or has very degraded foam, that this may not work for you. The below examples are done with a prism I had just re-foamed.
For Pentax 6x7 & 67, you have this sort of primitive link between the camera and the meter. For 1968 technology it was clever enough. However, there is a slight mis-understanding of how they are joined. The popular advice is to completely remove the lens from the camera first and juggle the meter on and remount the lens. That explains what happened to one of the meters I purchase as an "as-is, parts" meter with a bashed up shell. Since I've run across disbelief and anger about my suggestion for mounting, I'll throw this up just to document how it happens.
The meter's tab has a round bevel to it... oh-why, oh-why... and it is simple.
In this clip you will see that the connection is made without completely removing the lens, actually it about half an inch away from full removal... listen for the little click and remember to twist back the lens. So that in a pinch this could save a P6x7 or p67 owner from disaster.
