13 ME Super Project ... more stuff

A closer look at the "Winding Guide Plate Assembly"...

Indicated is what was corrected.  The function it provides is to move, by means of the mirror box being reset after advancing the film, the action of tipping up as well as pulling against the spring to actuate the prevent arm. That allows in turn the pawl to rest on the notch that is part of the spindle of the take-up.  This explains why the camera was locked up when I received it.  The reverse position of the lever to arm would restrict the full movement of the advance of the film cycle.

  1. Great find, altough it is hard to image how it could have been reversed: did someone mingle with the camera?

  2. There were signs that the camera was opened by someone. I don't know for sure, but the seller might have tried to fix it and gave up. The attempted repairs might have been centered around the winding mechanism as usually mistaken for the cause.
